This pattern comes from ?Tying and Fishing the Soft Hackled Nymph? an excellent book by Allen McGee. The book doesn?t give reference to the originator of the pattern, but it does give reference to its versatility. I like versatility in a fly. According to Allen you can fish it as an emerger, a sunken spinner or, ginked up, a spinner. It ticks all the boxes for me!
As always alter sizes and colours to suit.

Instructions assume right-handed tyers.

HOOK ? Grip 11911BL #16
THREAD ? Light Cahill UNI 8/0
TAIL ? A Few Pale Blue Dun Hackle Fibres
ABDOMEN ?  SLF Oliver Edwards mc3 Baetis Yellow/ Olive
WING ? Two Strands of Chrystal Hair
HACKLE ? Teal Duck Shoulder Hackle
HEAD ? Same as Abdomen.

STEP 1
Attach the thread and wrap to the bend, catching in the tails as you go.

STEP 2
Apply a pinch of dubbing and wrap to form the body.

STEP 3
Loop a strand of Chrystal Hair round the thread as shown.

Then allow the weight of the bobbin to pull it down on top of the hook shank.

Finally wrap over the two strands to secure. Trim to length.

STEP 4
Prepare and tie in the hackle by the tip.

Then wrap and tie off.

STEP 5
Apply another pinch of dubbing to the thread and wrap to form the head.

Whipfinish and detach the thread.

Varnish to complete the fly.

Another great tie as usual Scotfly.

All I can say is where do you find time to fish all these flies that you tie ;)
