A variation on the good old Hare?s Ear, just different enough to make you think? That?s cool.
I don?t think I?ve seen this done elsewhere, but the inspiration had to come from somewhere!
Anyway, new or not I hope you like it as much as I do.

Instructions assume right-handed tyers.

HOOK ? Niche N530 #14
THREAD ? Orange UTC 70
HACKLE ? Brown Partridge
BODY ? Hare?s Mask spun in a Pearl Tinsel Loop.

STEP 1
Attach the thread and tie in the hackle at the head.

STEP 2
Take a length of medium pearl tinsel, fold it in half and tie it in so that it forms a loop.

Take the thread back up to the shoulder.

STEP 3
Attach a dubbing whorl to the loop then Insert a ?noodle?  of fur

Then spin the whorl to form a dubbing rope.

STEP 4
Wrap the rope to form the body and tie off.

STEP 5
Wrap and tie off the hackle.

Finally, Whipfinish and varnish for the completed fly.

The pearl loop forms much better than I anticipated when I tried this technique and appears to be very strong.
Not so apparent in the photographs above, the body is quite striking with this technique. Hopefully the fish will think so too.
