An alternative take on the 'Posh Tosh'. It has proved pretty decent for me in falling water that has lost colour after a spate. It has taken a number of both grilse and sea trout for me. The materials are of course subject to your own imagination. Personally I do like the stuff that I have used and feel that the effect is at least passable.

Tying Materials

Hook: Partridge Wilson Double Size 8.
Thread: White.
Body: Storm Thunder Line nylon monofilament.
Hackle: Sunburst polar bear fur.
Wing: Sunburst polar bear fur overlaid with black arctic fox.
Cheeks: Jungle cock
Head: Black.

Tying Method

Step 1: Secure the hook in the vice with point(s) protruding.

Step 2: Attach the white thread and wind back.

Step 3: Cut a generous length of nylon momofilament. The spool has the legend "Think like a fish no matter how weird it gets" I cannot comprehend which marketing genius dreamed up that little number

Step 4: Tie in the mono and wind to the rear of the hook.

Step 5: Wind the thread in touching turns to a point short of the eye.

Step 6: Wind the mono in touching turns to form body.

Step 7: Whip finish the thread and finish. Attach black tying thread and invert the hook in the vice.

Step 8: Tie in a bunch of sunburst dyed polar bear fur as a beard. 'Right' the hook and ensure that the beard sits central.

Step 9: Tie in a bunch of sunburst polar bear fur as a wing.

Step 10: Overlay the polar bear fur with a bunch of black dyed arctic fox.

Step 11: Tie in a pair of jungle cock eyes as cheeks.

Step 12: Whip finish.

Step 13: varnish to complete.
