 This is a variation of a scandinavian pattern which has served me well in certain situations its very light weight to cast and is big in the water with loads of action . It pulls pike in sunny conditions and also in deep open water when the pike have moved to the cooler deeper water for comforts sake.

Hook: 4/0
Thread: any
tail :flash
collar: Fritz (any colour)
head : shaped with epoxy
Eye: optional

Step 1. fixed the hook in the jaws and tye in a lenghth of flash to the overall desired length of the fly. I aim for 6-7".
[attachimg=2]

step 2/3. Tie in a length of fritz to make a collar.
[attachimg=3]

[attachimg=4]

step 5,6 repeat steps 2,3,4 at the head of the fly.
[attachimg=6]

[attachimg=7]

Step 7. The messy bit! apply epoxy to the head area. then use a clothes peg to keep the shape while you go and make a cup of coffee.
[attachimg=8]

step 8 . while the fly is drying you can (optional) place in eyes. The fly is now complete.

I get my flash from Rutland fishing . Generous and long hanks of various colours (here ive used a pearl/silver and gold mix) for only ?1.

Wonder if I'd get away with that one on the chalkstreams.  :lol: :lol:
Nice one Col, thanks for sharing.

That's a really good looking fly Col. Looks like a good profile for a roach.

I'll be giving that a swim on the Clyde next time we get rain and certainly for bull trout in Canada in August :D

Scotfly,

Should be OK if you gink it up and cast upstream. (Shades of BWO from the "other forum")

It will definitely not work on the chalkstreams as it only works on wild fish :lol:
