I can?t remember the proper name of this fly so I?ve called it the Pulling Buzzer for the moment. This was my standby Buzzer in strong winds and allied with the Black Joe,(http://www.wildfisher.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=5198.0) on the dropper, was responsible for many fish.
Fished either dead drift or pulled in a strong or brisk wind takes are normally savage and usually often.
I prefer this one weighted.

Instructions assume right-handed tyers.

HOOK ? Kamasan B160 #12
THREAD ? Black UTC70
TAIL ? Black Marabou
CHEEKS ? Glo-Brite Fluorescent Floss #6 Orange
BODY ? Peacock Glister Dubbing

STEP 1
Apply a drop of Superglue to the hook and overwrap with lead wire.

Then attach the thread and overwrap the lead wire.

STEP 2
Tie in the marabou tail.

I normally tear it to length at this point, not too long. No more than 11/2 ? 2 x the body length.

STEP 3
Take a length of floss and fold it 4 times, giving you 8 strands and tie in on the side of the tail. Trim to the length shown.

Repeat on the other side.

STEP 4
Apply a pinch of dubbing to the thread.

STEP 5
Wrap the dubbing to form the body, then whipfinish and varnish for the completed fly.
