Steve

Here is my first attempt at a step by step.
This is a fly that Breac Uaig and I both catch plenty of fish with.
I also have a couple of video's of this fly on youtube here....
http://youtube.com/user/stevequeensunderland
Tying
Hook wet fly size 12 or 14
Thread Black
Tail. Toppings
Body Claret dyed Peacock
Rib Silver
Palmered with a claret dyed Cock hackle.
Head hackle Hen de leon

Tie in the toppings

Tie in the silver and then the peacock

take the Claret hackle and palmer it down the hook,

run the silver Thread up to the head of the fly

Take the Hen De Leon Hackle and make 2 or 3 turns

and tie the hackle down, form the knot and varnish.

Nice sbs Steve  8)

Good to see my old school featured in your favourites, and if you go to related video and open "boxing up the big park" http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZLIEDvEOlQI&feature=related pause the video 15secs in and you'll see a hoose on the right, looks like the town clock is part of it. That's my best pals aunties hoose, it's right on the Barr burn and it's where I first fished as a kid with the cane and bent pin for eels. I think it should have a plaque to commemorate the fact!
