Title: Bomber
Post by: roberth on May 11, 2005, 10:42:30 AM
I've been reading angling reports on the net recently and a fly named the bomber seems to be doing the business for the wild brownies.
Does anyone have the dressing for this pattern? I have heard of a bomber before but it was a large dry deer hair fly for salmon and steelheads, surely not the same pattern.

Roberth'Ido actually believe this is a deer hair pattern, never tied any but bought a couple a few years ago.Zulu bomber, tail red floss, rib, silver wire, body, spun black deer hair, clipped, hackle, black cock, palmered over deer hair and bring up rib as usual, head hackle, few turns of black cock, tied back and finish off.Sure its the same pattern'and can be done with most palmered pattern's,just substitute the seals fur body with the apropriate coloured deer hair,And if this is the wrong pattern,i am definately claiming this one 8)
Keep tying lads
Look north
