Title: Passion Vine Hoppers
Post by: Wildfisher on January 15, 2023, 04:08:47 PM
There is a seasonal bug on several NZ rivers, one being The Tongariro that the fish get so keyed into the will take nothing else. The Passion Vine Hopper.

This is my take on them.

Brown hare body, wing 50-50 brown and white McFlylon combed together. Wing fanned and trimmed to a delta profile and fixed in place with a spot of varnish. Takes minutes to tie.
No idea what size these bugs are so these are 14 ad 16. If the fish refuse these then it's Woolly Bugger time for me.  ;D
