Title: Water haul
Post by: Dougie Smith on March 29, 2007, 11:45:40 AM
I've read about using a water haul to avoid false casting whilst river fishing. What is a water haul and how is it done?
It sounds like line is left to drift downstream, the water tension is used to load the rod and the line is then cast upstream - is that correct?
Cheers,
Doug.

You've got it in one Dougie :D
Also known as a "from the water" cast.

Josh was shown how to cast this way on the Earn when he had a sore arm.  Made it a lot easier for him.
