This is an American badger. The hair from these was used for weaving hair hackles. Techniques made famous by people like Franz Pott. and George F.Grant. Doubtless useful for other things as well, but I don´t have any of this fur.

English badgers are now protected, but their hair was once used for various things. I don´t have a picture I could use. But they are fairly well known animals in the UK.The hair from these animals is not much use to a soft hackle dresser.
