Do you leave the ear wax on it to help it float :)
Don't worry, be happy.

Traditionalist

There is quite a lot of food packaging in supermarkets which makes excellent fly-dressing material. I occasionally buy packaged meats, as I live alone, and buying loose or fresh meat is invariably wasteful.  There is a particular brand of smoked shoulder ham in thick slices which I like, and I often fry instead of bacon for a tasty "butty".  This has the added advantage of being packed in the most useful double sided mylar tinsel I have ever found! ( Silver/Gold).

There is a lot of other stuff like this. Of course it rather depends on what flies you dress. If you don?t need purple transparent mylar, then there is no point in buying smoked mackerel which is packed in it. (Unless of course you like smoked mackerel!).
