Don't think the header is the correct name but what do you call it when on the likes of E Bay, Amazon & others you get links /pictures of things that you have looked at but not neccesary on these sites.

Go into browser preferences and look for something about cookies/third party cookies and turn it off. Also look for something about Do Not Track Me and turn it on. Lastly look for something about PopUps and turn it to don't allow or off. I use Opera with Adblock Plus running and don't get much of that and have all these setting set but I don't know how you do it on the other browsers.
Indeed that's what it is. Big brother is watching.

Don't turn all cookies off Alan or you will have trouble with some sites loading properly. Turn off only third party cookies.

These tracking cookies have pissed me off for a long time and I turned off as many as I could.
A few sites require that you allow cookies to gain access to vital information such as prices. So the "allow for this site only" option has been used. Other sites require "registration" just to gain your email address in order to send you "offers" and such like shite.
I was against all of this until today.
I am in the market for a new table saw and have settled on the Proxxon FET. Best price was £310 to include free delivery to my remote island address. I could get a cheaper base price, but had to pay up to £35 for delivery, £310 was the best all-in price and from a company I use and trust. One site I did not search was Amazon, but today I received an email from Amazon proffering the exact kit at £256 plus £14 delivery to any UK postal address (no distinctions). And this from a company in Germany!
A saving of £40 as a result of tracking cookies.
