Just time before I go fish'n to show you a little experiment. A guy called Ulf Hagstrom did a sbs of his "Uffes Killer" Vulgata. His was a #12, I scaled it down to a #20 and tied this variation.

Then I thought I'll take Ulf's killer and add a different technique for the body, and....

Ignore the big head on this one, maybe one day I'll tell you about a little idea I had and mucked up  and how I saved the day.   :D

No prizes, but who can tell me how the body is made?   :dunno

i seem to recall a technique using rolled copydex. never tried it but it makes bodies that look similar to yours.

Nearly. The tails are dipped, several times, in copydex. Like candle making.
Worked a treat on a nice broonie today too.  :D

Sorry, no, unless you can get a commercial tyer to do them for you. You could try Phil Holding of spiders plus.  http://www.spidersplus.co.uk/bespoke_page.html

Pearly Invicta

Useful looking flees. I can think of a few wee burns and rivers where they would work.
