Title: Bann Shrimp And Bann Special
Post by: speydulika on June 03, 2015, 09:18:46 AM
One of the many hundred Irish shrimp paterns that utilise pheasant breast feathers as a tail or more to the point the shrimps feelers. I find them excellent for low water grilse and salmon.

The Dressing

Hook: Kamasan B380 Low Water Salmon Size 14
Thread: Prrimrose at rear, black at front
Tag and rib: Veniard Peral Micro Glint
Rear hackle: Doubled and wound pheasant red breast feather
Rear body: No 10 yellow Glo Brite floss
Middle hackle: A doubled and wound orange dyed cock hackle
Front body: Black floss
Carpace: A pair of jungle cock nails tied 'roof' or 'tent' style
Front hackle: Silver badger hen hackle

A little sparkle at the harris end makes it a Bann Special
