Nutria, (Myocastor coypus), which was originally native to South America, These animals were introduced to Europe and are now widespread.also called "otter" by the fur trade. Has a lighter coloured belly. Is also occasionally confused with the Bisam. Useful fur for dubbing, and also hair hackles etc.
