Title: Gold beads
Post by: Steve on December 11, 2005, 12:38:20 AM
Just finished tying some flies with gold bead heads and wondered how everyone else keeps the bead in place?
I use Epoxy resin, I mix a small amount and using a needle I dab a tiny amount around the top of the hook shank, push the bead into place and when its dry clear the eye of the hook with the point of a needle.

Build up the hook shank where the bead is to live  with thread until the bead fits tight then put a drop of super-glue on and slide the bead on to it. Takes about a minute in total.

nor I Peter. Apart from super-gluing my fingers to the hook once or twice.

In fact, was that not what super glue was designed for? Gluing fingers?
