Title: A couple more
Post by: Lochan_load on January 09, 2014, 09:05:48 PM
Just a couple I knocked up before work, think the cock robin is to original dressing but maybe someone would know better than me? And the second might be a dirty Polly? Fred is this in the right ball park?

Looks fine to me Andy. What's the hook on the dirty poly?

It's just a straight down eye dry hook from veniard, I bent it in the vice as per your sbs and it seems to have turned out ok

The original cock robin was just winged rather than being a dabbler. I do like your dabbler version though. Very nice indeed.

Cheers roobarb, the back end is golden olive, it shows up a wee bit yellower cos of my tying light, the hackle is ginger cock, I put it in just to balance out a bit, I find mallard cloaks look a wee bit dodgy without a shoulder hackle, don't tie too many but i like that one

Good stuff, I've found a fly called the balinderry black, I'm tying it just now and will post it up
