These look fine Tommy. The wings are perhaps a shade longer than the classical tying, but I've no idea if it would make any difference. Getting  wing length right is one of the things I found most difficult in fly tying. I still get it wrong.

Yip, tie in 3-4 bunches along the shank, your flies look good and always a reliable catcher for me, like Fred says keep at it, every now and then you have a wee 'eureka' moment when something just clicks into place, and  if you watch davie mcphail they happen a lot quicker! the best bits are about how to form the fly and proportions and wee shortcuts that otherwise take ages to figure out for yourself.
