Title: foul weather = bad attitude flies
Post by: corsican dave on July 19, 2015, 10:02:43 AM
here's a couple of lazy-man's mice for those with the same lackadaisical attitude to spinning deer hair as me. couldn't be simpler; big hook (these are on #2/0 salmon irons, but you can go down to a size #4 or #6 if baby harvest mice are your thing...), whip on a bit of zonker as a tail, then a strip of foam. a few clumps of deer hair spun on, then bring forward the foam and whip finish. can be tied "standard" or "gurgler" style. to be honest, the fish don't care....

as you can see, I don't bother with stacking the hair or even trimming it afterwards. maybe just a little on the underside above the gap of the hook. now go catch aliens!  :8)
