I've been playing around with videoing some flytying, I'm no Davie McPail and you don't get to listen to my dulcet tones.
Having to arrange all the material for each fly before you start tying was a bit of an eye opener for me. I usually find material as I go an spend a lot of time scrachling around. Having to get everything sorted out first makes the tying flow so much better and feels as though it helps me tie a neater fly. This would be a good habit to have and is something most of you probably do as a matter of course.
Anyway here's one example:

Good video Robbie. I enjoyed that. :8)
well done Robbie , enjoyed that, would have preferred you blethering away though...and brave choice of fly too..i faff about too much with deerhair..id need a sequel.. look forward to the next yin!!
I've recorded a few videos and I was the same, half the videos are me searching for materials,
I mainly did it as a lesson to myself to look back on,
Great video! :)
Cheers guys, thanks for the kind comments.
I have put up a couple of other videos. My first attempt was not quite so brave:

Cool vids Robbie!
Tidy work with these :D :D New career coming along ?? :8)
Cheers Robbie its good to see different approaches to flys. For example I do the dubbing on a hog all on the same go. I'll give your way ago next.
i love them! :D the lighting is good and the view of the tying is clear. the music's not bad, either.... :8)
Cheers guys.
Not sure about a new career, if I could make money out of tying flies I would be more than a little tempted. Unfortunately I could even save money tying flies so think I'll have to stick to engineering for now.
Liam, do you tie in several bunches of hair and then run thread to back of hook to dub the body?
I have been trying to find copy right free music, there area few sites but its a bit hit and miss on what I find...
I apply the head of deer hair then dub the body running to the bend in the hook, then work my way back up applying more deer. If that makes any sense?
Great videos Robbie you are right about not making money from tying when you look at the prices on eBay and such its good that you enjoy the art and sharing with friends like me and billy :crap got j son kit you where using and find it good to do bodies cheers
 Cheers John
