Aye but your flies are just a wee bit better than mine
But for some reason catch much fewer fish :?
I might not have tied 60 flies in my life lol, have a good trip Alex.
What I'd give for a good rummage through those boxes. There's a lot of interesting shapes in that pic! :)
That is a fearsome number of flies! In the picture and to tie in one day!!!
Ah lots of tree lined banks in New Zealand then :makefun

There may be a couple of thousand flies on show there. Somehow I can never find the one the fish want :)
60 flies seems a lot and it is, but it doesn't take long to tie 20 Griffiths Gnats, particularly if you miss out the peacock herkcand tail. Likewise my fagouriteceee brown wire nymph. I did 40 of those, but eventually toòk a short cut by not bothering with a wing case. The shořt cut dressing is simply peacock krystal flash for a tail, medium brown UTC wire for abdomen and pine fox dubbing for thorax. That's it. Simple and it works.
Nice to see you've been busy getting our flies sorted Alex.
All the best
Freeloader Fred
Can't be long now, when are you away?

We leave on Saturday and arrive Monday. Might manage a spot of fishing on Tuesday evening, weather permitting. It could hit 40c tomorrow where we are going
Just a ball-park run past but if you lose 10 a day (two for you and eight for Fred :?) then you have got 200 days worth !!

That was great. I was watching some of his USA videos last night. Looking at maybe Montana/ Idaho next year.
Rather than carry on with cluttering up the flies and fly tying section with posts about our trip, I will start a new thread in the International section.

Don't put all your fly boxes in one case.
You can survive without a change of drawers on a trip like that but if your flies were on their way to Jakarta......................

Good advice that
I always split my gear between the cases Billy. One rod and reel in each and flies distributed too.
Waiting at the luggage carousel is always an anxious moment on any holiday, but in a fishing holiday it is a real nail biting affair.
