Title: Snowshoe Hair ?
Post by: rannoch raider on June 05, 2019, 12:54:32 AM
Does anyone use it ? There are those who believe it provides more floatability than CDC and more resilience to 'sliming up' after a fish takes. I've tied with it and it is certainly easy to use on smaller patterns but I don't think it's as tidy . That may not matter much to be fair but I'd like to hear your  thoughts on it ?

I have tied a couple of flies with it but can't say I have used them in anger enough to comment reliably on their performance. I have found that I rarely tie flies small enough that deer hair does not function well enough for my needs.

I have quite a few hedgehog sort of things with this in plain and in olive which dies very dark with Veniards. The flees end up sllightly more scruffy than my normal level of scruffiness. Harder to prevent bushiness but plenty buoyancy
