Title: A Simple Emerger.
Post by: piscatus absentis on June 27, 2006, 09:27:34 PM
I'm a crap tyer and an even crappier dry fly fisher.  It has to be really simple for me.

This is an olive emerger that I use now and then.  Gink the wing and it floats well for a few casts but then needs drying out.  I've had a few fish with it.  Nae doot the experts will dae better.

Silk - Olive
Body and wing - Antron Body Wool.
Rib.  Gold Wire.

After tying the body leave a loop at the head.  Cut it and tease out for the wing.  I also have a hare lug version using a stuff called Bug Yarn from Lureflash.

That's it.

Looks like a killer to me. I'll tie up a  few and give them a go. I like things that are simple.
