Title: To Thorax or Not To Thorax
Post by: Wildfisher on March 24, 2005, 08:44:52 PM
That is the question.

Whether it mak?s it sit mair  nobly oan the waater???.

Seriously, I  am siting  here tying up some of Bob Wyatt?s ?Dirty Dusters? Bob told me this is far easier to tie than his deer hair emerger, far tougher and catches just as many fish.  Question is, does the thorax matter? Allan recommends not ginking the thorax  of these types of flies so that would suggest it sits down  in the water the same as the abdomen.  Do you need it?

Watcha think?

The thorax would give it a fly like profile, like this

whether it is needed or not, ask a fish :)
