i am needing to buy some new yarn for using as posts on klink/para type flies.i was looking at aero dry wing but was wondering why it was so expensive ,is it that good? don't mind the price if its the best does anybody have any advice on this or good alternatives.

I'm not sure if anyone knows why it's so expensive.

It is good (and suitable) , but for big klinks and other larger parachute posts I prefer McFlylon - it's pretty coarse and holds its shape well. As it is pretty coarse you may prefer the Aero Drywing for smaller patterns. The Niche Products siliconised yarn is very good too, but you don't get much of it for your money. One way or another none of the above are unduly cheap.

Just make sure it's a crinkly  yarn and I'm sure it will work fine. Wapsi poly yarn may be one of the better cheaper alternatives.
