Haven't read the thread on the other place but I once offered some flees - at a cost - not so much to make money but more to give non tyers a shot of some very good rainbow lures. Went to a slanging match after about three posts and one guy I sent some flies to claimed he never got them. I sent him some more F.O.C.

I'm not the best tyer by any means but I've no idea how some guys can knock out six very good custom flies for less than a tenner including postage. Devaluing themselves and the market I reconn.

I sometimes still buy flies but mainly only where I need a specific pattern I've not had a chance to tie. I think professional and well quoted tyers deserve a decent rate for their toils especially when difficult or complicated patterns can go for nearly ?2 in the shops.
