Been sorting my fly boxes for next season.  It's amazing how many crap patterns I've accumulated over the years, so I've seperated all the keepers from the cack ones - including those experimental flies that I'll never fish and don't want in my boxes anymore.  So now I need to strip back a load of flies in order to recycle the hooks. I've used a stanley blade before, which works ok, but it's still a chore. Anyone got a more efficient method?

alancrob

Why not just flog them and buy some new hooks?

Stick them in the next fly swap

Wee Bri's kindly given me a scalpel to try!  :D

I use one of wee bri's scalpels.... very sharp  Do the job brilliantly mind you, thanks again Brian!

I'm a scalpel man myself. Hobby's UK are my supplier.
Lidl did a magic set of modelling knives for under a tenner, watch out for them.
'til a voice as bad as conscience,
rang interminable changes,
on an everlasting whisper,
day and night repeated so-
"Something hidden, go and find it,
Go and look beyond the ranges,
Something lost beyond the ranges,
Lost and waiting for you,
Go."

scotty9

I would Andy but you might decline it.... it's easier for me just to go ahead

Thanks for the kind words and the scalpel Brian! What you don't know is i've been tying with 8 and a 1/4 fingers...  :makefun
