Can't help feeling as well that sometines someone's public image isn't an exact reflection of what they might be like in 'normal' everyday life.
Very true. In my past charity employment I met any number of "celebrity" supporters, patrons, guest speakers etc.
Almost invairiably the public persona is the exact opposite of the private persona. One of Britain's best loved comic actresses is a complete pain in the butt, requiring a private loo- which the Queen does not (contrary to popular legend). The Princess Royal (despite my politics) is a down to earth, roll up the sleeves and get on with it Patron. That she does not suffer fools gladly is a positive attribute.
Many folks are astounded to learn that one of my ex-colleagues is Matthew Kelly's wife.
And whilst I am name-dropping, did I ever tell you that I once danced with Jamie Leigh Curtis?
'til a voice as bad as conscience,
rang interminable changes,
on an everlasting whisper,
day and night repeated so-
"Something hidden, go and find it,
Go and look beyond the ranges,
Something lost beyond the ranges,
Lost and waiting for you,
Go."

Possibly another reason why some well known, perhaps forthright,  fishing celebrities such as Stan avoid forums is that they may  be subjected  to needless harassment from the envy brigade.

Can't remember, but he sends me a Christmas card. Did I ever tell you that I once danced with.....?

Was that you with the muscles in True Lies then?

No, but I once dance with.....
'til a voice as bad as conscience,
rang interminable changes,
on an everlasting whisper,
day and night repeated so-
"Something hidden, go and find it,
Go and look beyond the ranges,
Something lost beyond the ranges,
Lost and waiting for you,
Go."

never mind Jamie Lee Curtis, or whoever it is, have you fondled Stans flies?
No, I have not had that honour.
But there is a rumour that I might be spending a couple of days in a boat with him next season.
Deckchairs will be available (at a reasonable price) by the lochside such that you may watch.
He might even join me in a dance, but it would not be as good as the time I danced with.....

Oh, and for the Google experts, I have also danced with J Morrison-Schwartz and Lady Haden-Guest.
But not, yet, with Stan.

Stan?s magnificence  notwithstanding, I feel that after Jamie Lee Curtis you could be in for a bit of a crash landing here.

Allow me to explain further

Are you getting my drift?

What is it with J L Curtis and flies?  :8) breac uaig
Who cares?
Do you want pictures of perfectly tied PR's or pictures of perfectly formed JLC on the forum?
By the way, did I tell you that I once danced with......
