Hello all i am tying up some USD Parachute flies & have a couple of questions.
1. Do they work better for picky trout than normal Parachute flies.
2. How many turns of hackle do people add to there USD to ensure the hook point keeps pointing skywards.
I have been giving them 5 turns & they seem to be floating ok in a glass of water but won't be able to try them on the river for another 39 days. :DCheers

Not in my experience.

That's down to trial and error, and experience. As a guideline, the smaller/lighter the hook, the fewer turns of hackle will be required. Nothing else for it but to experiment. Do try for as few turns as you can get away with.

Hopefully they can catch as good as then :(.Now for some Upside Down CDC & Elks.I guess it's just boredom with waiting for the 15th March. Cheers Scotfly
