I wonder if anyone could guide me to the right combination of nymph hooks and beadheads?

Despite having a range of gold head beads I am struggling to get any around any of the nymph hooks in . I must have the wrong type of hook ......... what do you recommend?

Round bend hooks are the most useful. Doesn't matter what brand although barb size and throat length  can be important.

These may be useful to you;

some hook shapes are simply not suitable for fitting beads, like limerick or square bend hooks.Some hooks will only allow certain sizes ( usually too large) to be used.  Round bend hooks allow the best fit, ( beads not too loose), and a larger range of sizes.

Just bog standard Kamasan B100's and B170's from size 12's to 16's.

The beadheads came from here
http://www.tungsten-beads-plus.com/

Bought a shed load a few years back, the tungsten beads at that time had a generous chamfer at one end which helps. If you have a barb it sometimes catches on the smaller hooks but keep pushing and it will spring back into place. I don't spend too much time with these patterns so can't help on specialist stuff.

Hope this helps.

I use a combination of Kamasan B110's and tungsten beads from the link in east winds post.  I always debarb and it makes them easier to put on

B110 - Size 14 = 3mm Bead
                   12 = 3.5mm Bead
                   10 = 3.5mm Bead

Hope that helps

Tomcatin, been tying a few nymphs up and can easily fit a 2mm bead over a 14 kamasan hook so room for variation if you feel the need.
