I’m not sure is this is a well-known idea or even if it works.
A while ago a friend showed me a ruined fly (I’m English – for which I apologise- so typing flee sounds like I’m taking the Piss!) box that had been attacked by moths. Brings me out in a cold sweat thinking about it (the fly box; I’m OK about being an Englishman)
Not long after I was watching tv where some museum conservators put a newly acquired stuffed bear in a freezer to ensure it did not bring moths into the museum.
So………… I bunged a box of flies into the freezer for a week, doesn’t seem to have done any harm, not sure if its done any good either.  I was very careful to ensure the box was dry (rusty hooks) after it had “defrosted”.

I just tie them up with Ice Yarn
Protect the edge.

One thing I've learnt since I started curing my own bacon and ham is that Pork needs to be frozen at -20c to kill any Trychnia worms in it (nasty beasties). But I've no idea how cold it has to be to kill a Red-Arsed MacDougall or a Bandy Catcher.
