Only just beginning to get to grip with the whole fly tying mullarky ..... so have relied on commercial flies (mostly from the web)

Two things that always bother me about the mass produced (cheap) end of the fly market are:

1) How substandard some of the flies are ........ flies that immediately rust, smothered in glue, prepensity to disinitergrate after one decent pluck from a trout, damaged in transit etc, and

2) The sweatshop conditions many (not all ...... hats of to Fulling Mill amongst others who have done their best to provide decent working conditions) that many are produced.

That said from bitter experience I have whittled down my preferred suppliers to:

York of Norfolk  http://www.yorkofnorfolk.com/ (nice flies and a good website where they take the trouble to describe the fly and its suitability)

Selectafly http://www.selectafly.com/

Sadly my 7' 5 weight that killed fascists is deceased!
