I picked up a grayling or two on the Tweed on Friday and Saturday.  I was tempted to say nothing but let's be fair to everyone.  This is the one that did the damage.

Hook.  Size 12 heavyweight sedge
Underbody Copper wire.
Rib Silver wire.
Body Black and red natural wool or embroidery thread.

The wool or embroidery thread is important since it absorbs water to increase weight.  It can also be picked out to make it look buggier.

The location? - ask me when I've a drink in my hand.

I tie a midge pupae something along those lines PA but for the rib I use the stalk from a white hackle. Tied in with the narrow end at the bend it makes for a great rib.

A great looking fly and with that deadly black / red combo - a surefire winner.

I'd call it a Bibio Number Wan  :D
