The Dressing

Hook: Fulling Mill Downeye Dry Size 14
Thread: Sheer 14/0 primrose
Body: Chopped and dubbed pale cream undefur from whatever skin you have to hand
Rib: Superfine electrical wire
Wing: Cream coloured cock hackle tied with fibres in reverse tied flat over back of body
Hackle: Mid ginger cock

I like the sedge. Someone gave me a similar cdc version of your fly once and it used to do well for me. I must tie some up.

To be picky, it is probabably a better needle fly imitation than a sedge imitation if the truth be told :) The body on a sedge is only about half the length of the fly overall with wings folded :)

On the other hand, I doubt if the fish really care about such things. They do seem to accept the dirty great hook as part of the fly after all :lol:
