This one hasn?t seen water yet, but when it does I?m sure it will do well.
I tied this one as an example of the double loop technique shown in the dubbing techniques (http://www.wildfisher.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=11416.0) article.
You can see a detailed description of how to prepare the Voljc style wing HERE (http://www.wildfisher.co.uk/smf/index.php?topic=7022.0)
Instructions assume right-handed tyers.
HOOK ? Kamasan B830 #10
THREAD ? Uni Fire Orange 8/0
BODY ? Roman Moser Brown Deer Hair Dubbing
WING ? Pheasant Church Window feather (Voljc style wing)
LEGS ? Jan Siman Oliver Edwards Caddis Legs, Brown #6
STEP 1
Attach the thread and wrap to midpoint of the hook shank.

STEP 2
Form the first loop.
Take the thread to the hook bend, securing the first loop as you go.
STEP 3
Wrap the thread three turns toward the eye. (to the right)
Then form your second loop.
STEP 4
Insert your dubbing noodle between the two loops.
Then take one turn of thread round the two loops, then wrap the thread to the shoulder.
Now start twisting to form the dubbing rope.

STEP 5
Wrap the dubbing rope to form the body. With each turn of the dubbing rope sweep all the fibres back to help form a denser body.
Then trim the body to shape.
STEP 6
You should have some Voljc style wings pre-pared.
Cut one out and trim to shape.
Then tie it in on top of and central on the hook.
STEP 7
Tie in the caddis legs.
Then wrap to the eye and tie off.
STEP 8
Finally, whipfinish and varnish for the completed fly.

Brill SBS. Do you think chopped deer hair mixed with SLF type dubbing could achieve similar results for the body?

I would think so, only one way to know for sure though.
That looks a cracker, Scotfly.
I take it the Jan Siman Oliver Edwards legs are bought as a prepared rope?
I can see it being very useful.
Where d'you get them?

Yep, in a packet ready to go.
Can't remember where I got mine, but a quick "google" found them here.. http://www.flytek.co.uk/acatalog/Dubbing_Materials.html
