This chap has begun to turn up at the feeder- a bit blurred (1/125, 300mm)
[attachimg=1]
'til a voice as bad as conscience,
rang interminable changes,
on an everlasting whisper,
day and night repeated so-
"Something hidden, go and find it,
Go and look beyond the ranges,
Something lost beyond the ranges,
Lost and waiting for you,
Go."

Fishtales

It looks like he got camera shy at the last minute and turned away :)

Try setting the camera to speed priority next time. Set it to the same or slightly faster than the focal length being used and let the camera take care of the rest. Works for me, sometimes :)
Don't worry, be happy.

Carried it in full, then carry it out empty.

It was just a snatch shot through the window. He was pecking away furiously. It will take a few days until he gets used to me.
I just flicked the camera into "sports" mode.

Acouple of hours sitting still, then so did he.

Now that is good. Patience is a virtue, or a great picture :)

A handsome bird, had not seen one before.  Cheers!
<It is distributed throughout Europe and northern Asia>

Cracking shots there Andy. The other one you posted of the bee and spider is stunning as well, competition winner for sure!
I used to be a surrealist but now I'm just fish.
