I have never spotted one of these round my way before, does anyone know what it is?

Drawing on my Yorkshire experience, (which admittedly was a long time ago), that is most definitely a F$&&§& great big ugly black thing!

I reckon a black palmered Pennell would  do the busness if the trout were so misguided as to actually eat such an abomination.

"What's a palmered Pennell"  I hear  you ask, and quite rightly too!  It's a Black Pennell with more hackle.

( It's a Yorkshire thing).
