I was amazed at just how precisely he sets his gear up. He pulled out an 18ft MacKenzie DTX at the CC one day and revealed he had put the line together himself to have a 95ft head weighing 52 grams. He then proceeded to cast over 150ft with a rod and reel combination he hadn't used before.
