I came across this on FFF.

It appears H.M Revenue and Customs are investigating qualified guides and instructors. I realise that most here give their excellent services for free, but it may be worth making sure you have paperwork to prove this.

Congratulations.  The silly and quite remarkably dishonest man who runs it banned me as well ( after I left).  You can still read most of the rubbish though, if you happen to be so inclined. Indeed, you can read all of it if you know how, but it is rarely worth the bother.

I can see their point but it's not going to be a big money earner for them, I'm sure fishing guides/instructors don't feature highly in taxable income not declared in the grand scheme of things!

I'm fine mind you, my current earings fall under the taxable threshold

its a bit of a waste investigating people that dont make any actual money surely

I'd have thought so, but no matter how small or casual the income, proper accounts must be kept and all income / losses declared. That's the law.

Dear Sirs,
How do I delete all my posts on the forum that suggest or state that I have done some guiding?
(Never for money you understand, but just in case)
Worried of Glen Garry
'til a voice as bad as conscience,
rang interminable changes,
on an everlasting whisper,
day and night repeated so-
"Something hidden, go and find it,
Go and look beyond the ranges,
Something lost beyond the ranges,
Lost and waiting for you,
Go."

Assuming he is breaking the law and not declaring income. If he's as successful as his marketing suggests I'd imagine he does report it.
