Having inspected my old old Vaude tent decided it was finished thanks mainly to some small furry lodgers in the garage and bit on heavy side. Having checked around opted for a Vango Banshee 200 which although much cheaper at £89 than a new Vaude looks like good value in terms of weight and perf reviews which includes D of E accreditation. If no of trips per year increase to anything like all of those on my to do list then I may want to go for something more expensive.
Haven't been able to find a Vango footprint for this model so if anyone knows of a source please let me know, otherwise will cut tarp to suit.
Sleeping bag is next replacement on my list, any recommendations?? I had been looking at Vango Ultralite 3-4 season models but been so long since I bought such item??
I realise that the banshee has been subject of previous threads but would be interested in any feedback on this tent.

He loves it. Plenty of room for his 6'2" frame, it has a small porch for cooking in if needed and can be put up and taken down as one; outer first; or inner first. He also bought a new sleeping bag that packs down really small but which was too warm for him to sleep in at times :) I'll try and find out which one he got.
That's the tent I've used for the last couple of years and will be hopefully for a few more to come. I've used it in the hills in some pretty wild weather and never had a problem with it. Plenty room for me in it and at 2kg not bad weight wise plus pretty compact. If you go to the Screwfix website you can get a tarp that's just the right size for a groundsheet.
Look at the Vango Tempest as well though; much better headroom/space than the banshee for only a little heavier. Otter Spotter an here has one and thought it much better than the Banshee.
The tempest is a kilo heavier :shock: The Banshee 200 is 1.85kg and the Tempest 200 is 2.9kg.

I got a Vango Banshee a couple of years ago and I think it is a great wee tent for the money. You can erect it in minutes if you leave the inner attached to the outer sheet after you use if foe the first time.

When packing it to go away take the poles out and slide them and the pegs down the inside of the rucksack. That way using the compression sack you can get the size down quite small. George can get the tent, sleeping bag in its compression sack and his self-inflate mat in the bottom, clothes, cooking gear and food on top. Doing it this way I can get my tent and sleeping bag side by side at the bottom of the sack. I use a closed cell foam mat that I strap down the side with the bottom inside the small elastic pockets at the bottom and put my walking pole/mono-pod down the inside if I'm not using it :)

If you are looking for a sleeping mat this looks a good buy. I prefer my closed cell mat as it goes under the tent and protects the groundsheet, I wouldn't think a blow up mat would like that :)
