Title: Whanlan Fish Pass Improvements
Post by: Wildfisher on November 21, 2013, 12:48:34 PM
The Esks Rivers Trust has installed a simple system of baffles in the old fish pass on the Pow Burn at Whanlan Farm near Montrose.

The Pow Burn is an important spawning tributary of The South Esk and these baffles, simple to install, slow the flow down and provide an easier passage for trout and salmon.

At the ERFT we carry out environmental improvement and conservation work on the North and South Esks, The Lunan and Bervie Waters.
