Title: SAS logged a PUP
Post by: Yardbent on February 09, 2014, 11:21:37 PM
i always run Super AntiSpyware Pro after a session on the PC
usually just picks up a few tracking cookies

tonight it stopped and said

''potential Unwanted Program detected.....myPC Backup - this is scareware''

i highlighted this result, and clicked 'uninstall'  --- and the scan continued

did a Google = not nice.  Searched through Control Panel etc - canna find a trace of it

looks like SAS has removed it..

do i need to worry/act/find out more..?

thanks

It is a Cloud Backup program.

Looks like you may have clicked on something on a site you visited offering cloud backup for your data. Amazon, iTunes, Google and a lot of other places offer that facility.

.................

thanks
sounds a right rip-off with Google reports that once you've installed - it says you need 'additional' features at £xxx

no thanks...........2 x 320GB external HDDs will do me .. and it is ME who is in charge
