Title: Lewis/Harris caravan sites
Post by: Lochan_load on June 26, 2017, 10:46:19 AM
In two weeks I'm heading off with the wife for our caravan tour, thinking of going the Harris ferry from Skye and then back via stornoway to Ullapool. Would like to spend a few days in Harris and then up to Stornaway for a few as well. Trouble being trying to find somewhere to stay with the caravan, there's a few there but wondering if anyone has any first hand experience over there. Not too bothered about fancy facilities but need an electric hook up. Any info greatly appreciated

Try Bimbo's in Shawbost, though to be honest he's been basically full since about April now but might have some capacity. Lewis and Harris have become "trendy" destinations recently but have rather limited facilities in some places and so can get busy.

I stayed there last year and it's a great wee site. Good fishing nearby as well.
