Fisherman's Feather were at one time the best of the best but I have a feeling they are no more. Really hard to get a A1 cape nowadays but they do crop up from time to time. Just keep looking untill the right one appears. E Bay is certainly worth watching. I would not worry unduly about a few splits. this is quite common especially in the larger sized nails even on a "good cape" they are easily repaired.

Got mine from Tom Saville's - British bred and top quality.  I would worry about the provenance of some of the Ebay "bargain" capes.

Cheers
