Ok, Maybe a bit early for this, but i need a new fly outfit for next season as my current outfit is old and has no reccommended line weight etc, what would be a good outfit to buy that won't break the bank, as i dont have too much to spend, maximum around 70 quid?

would you reccommend that line weight rating sandy???

Fishtales

It is a Whisker 10' #6-8 I use for all my fishing. River, loch, boat, dry fly or wet. I use it with a WF7 or a WF8 if it is a strong wind.

Stephen,

For our style of fishing you can?t go far wrong with a Diawa rod.  For a beginner especially they are easy to cast and very forgiving.  Don?t cast to the far horizon?  So what?  For our style of fishing that is not necessary and even less so for thicko rainbows  that swim  3 feet from you and tip you the wink as they pass.

Get a #5 weight  rod  and I will give you a Shakespeare Worcestershire DT floating line for free, that's a known high quality line by the way and I have a brand new unused spare. If Uncleboo sends the reel and the spare spool to me I?ll put the line and backing on for you.

If someone else has a sinker or an intermediate they don?t need they can send it to me and I?ll fit that  too the spare spool.

I have some Snowbee rods 5 /6 weight, but these are stiffer and faster actioned  than Diawa.

ok i have decided that i will get a diawa whisker 10ft 5/6 weight

stephen_oconnor

thanks davy, between your reel and the whisker i am buying from uncleboo, i will have a good outfit i think, cant wait, bring on the brownie season
