I have very limited experience of motors but I thought the design was for the split pin to shear rather than the prop?

They do have a shear pin but props are plastic and often you lose a blade before shear pin without much trouble

Hi,
Also remember to have electric outboard raised out of water when motoring between drifts when on the engine (if used),as you will damage the windings of the electric due to the propeller windmilling when hand throttle on electric in neutral.

Thanks to all for your feedback which has given food for thought. A friend of a friend is going to take me to his water next month to try out his version before committing to purchase.
Ta once again.
