I read an add in this months FF&FT magazine for Fishing Antiques by a firm called Thomas Turner.

Looks like there's money in junk after all.

Then it struck me we are sitting on a potential gold mine, this forum is packed with fishing antiques, myself, Fishtales and Inchlaggan and that's just for starters.

Are you a fishing antique and if so how much do you reckon you are worth?

When I retired my old firm said they might call me in on a consultancy basis, I said "sure a Grand a day is the going rate I believe", funnily enough the phone has never rang lol.

I am more of a dinosaur but I am quite happy with that.

Just had a look on the site and must have a loft full of old rods and reels and goes to show if in good condition are still worth a few pounds have numerous Michell spinning reels and shocked at what they still go for. Also used to have a couple of  Abu Ambassadeur 6000 multiplier reels which I gave to a so called friend for safe keeping as the belonged to a dear friend who sadly passed away needless to say never saw them again. But some nice fishing antiques
