I had a hike today up to one of  my old favourite hill lochs for  old time's sake. Have not been up there fishing for at least 8 years; today I took video gear rather than fishing gear but might go back in a week or so for a cast. I'm still fit enough it seems!

This is just a screen grab from one of the drone videos.

How stunning is this place?  It's also stuffed with good trout by the way.

Looks like a lovely water Fred - nice breeze whispering past those rocks on the shoreline behind the shed.

Nice looking spot.
Not many your age as fit as you Fred.Vaughan is another exception.

Not sure if that's a compliment or an insult Alan  ;D

Aye you are right. Can't imagine my auld man doing what I do when he was my age!  Slow and steady, I'm not as swift as I was but do get there.  ;)

If I can carry 18 Kilos up a hill and four miles over lumpy ground with long grass and giant ferns at 71, last year, you can do it with only a camera :)
Don't worry, be happy.

I usually have four cameras but no tripod that would probably make all the difference :)

I think we do well for a couple of old codgers Sandy  ;)

If you think you can do it you will. If you think you aren't going to make it you turn back. You have to keep getting out though and keep as fit as the body will allow or loose the ability to do it.

Too true.  You have to have the correct mindset. When you get older it becomes less easy, you simply do not have the energy levels you had when younger.

That's only part of it though, equally important is the mental discipline. It's all too easy to fall prey to the deadly armchair!   ;)
