Title: Cold hands
Post by: Malcolm on November 29, 2012, 10:53:41 AM
I've mentioned this idea before but if you are a pike fisher in November this is at least half a solution - for the rod hand. I haven't found anything else that comes close for keeping the hand toasty warm but still allowing you to hold the rod.
The pogie has a slit in it to slip the index finger through to control the line. These come in all materials, shapes and sizes in kayak/canoe/rowing shops and the idea is that these are slipped onto the paddle/oar and the hand grips the paddle while being covered.

That looks like a cracking idea. Think I'll be getting one of those.
