Whilst waiting for said flee heid to dry you pour yourself another well deserving generous dram and sup away until said flee heid is dry.  Missed operchancity I believe.

This has the added benefit of every flee you tie seems to get better and better.

If you don'y want to varnish, try a second whip finish. Means theres very little problem of the whip loosening which is why we put on varnish. Or do aesthetics & tradition come in here??
